Fall is one of my favorite times of year to hit the Downtown Cary Farmers Market on Saturday. It’s fun to let the market guide what I make that weekend. This past weekend I was craving Thai food, and as always, the market provided me with plenty of inspiration to make the laziest, tastiest Coconut Eggplant Soup over Jasmine Rice. Yum!
This weekend is absolutely packed in Cary, with both Asia Fest and the Fall Farmers Festival, the Cary Players start their first play of the new season, Cary Art Loop is this Friday and much more.
The Cary Downtown Farmers Market was founded in 1996, and is Cary’s original farmers market. They celebrate the Fall harvest season with the third annual Farmers Fall Festival on Saturday, September 28, 2019, with an extended footprint onto West Chatham Street.
This weekend is filled with big Cary events, from the Nâzim Hikmet Poetry Festival to the Downtown Cary Farmers Market opening back up to North Carolina FC returning to play a home game and more.
This past weekend was the 2017 Farmers Fall Festival in Downtown Cary, with local vendors, farmers, arts and crafts, music and more. Here are some photos from the event if you missed out or want to relive it.

While Cary and Wake County are some of the best places to live in the entire country, there are still many people who are food insecure. And over the Summer, the Downtown Cary Farmers’ Market is working on programs to help get more food to the people who need it.
This weekend brings a lot of exciting events, such as the final Live in the District concert, the En Plein Air auction and gala, Swim for America and much more.
It will be a busy weekend in Cary, with Art Loop, the Farmers’ Market, lots of live music and more. And best of all, no more rain.
