As Downtown Cary has grown these past several years, Downtown Cary Food and Flea has grown right along side it. This month’s market marks five years it has been open and selling local goods downtown.
Fall is one of my favorite times of year to hit the Downtown Cary Farmers Market on Saturday. It’s fun to let the market guide what I make that weekend. This past weekend I was craving Thai food, and as always, the market provided me with plenty of inspiration to make the laziest, tastiest Coconut Eggplant Soup over Jasmine Rice. Yum!

Downtown Cary is getting a new restaurant, dedicated to breakfast, as the owners of Crosstown Pub and Grill open Daybreak next door to their current store.
It’s the first weekend of Autumn and there is lots going on, with Downtown Food and Flea on Sunday, food and drink festivals around town, all with Hopscotch Music Festival going on in neighboring Raleigh at the same time.
A water main break on Old Apex Road has closed a large portion of this Downtown Cary road to traffic.
The Guess-White-Ogle House has been in Downtown Cary for nearly 200 years and Sheila Ogle, the house’s current owner and the woman responsible for much of its restoration and current status, has written a book sharing not only the house’s long history but also the memories of people who have stayed and visited.

We are in the heart of the Summer right now, with Downtown Cary’s food truck rodeo this weekend, as well as multiple performances by the North Carolina Symphony, the North Carolina Courage return home and much more.
For two years now, plans have been in the works to move North Carolina FC from their current location at WakeMed Soccer Park to a new major stadium in Downtown Raleigh. Now, there is a new downtown plan, combining the stadium with a large mixed-use area, all contingent upon hospitality tax funding.
