Cary, NC – In yet another sign of the renaissance of Downtown Cary, MMI Public Relations recently relocated their office to 223 East Chatham Street, just up from the Food Factory.

MMI Moves to Downtown Cary

I spoke with owner Patty Briguglio about the recent move.

After months of renovations to an existing building, MMI Public Relations officially moved in and opened for business on March 14. They were bursting at the seams in their old space on Chapel Hill Road in Raleigh. About 30 employees  work in the new space, which happily has some flex space and room for growth.

Film Studio & Podcasting

Patty was happy to show me the additional space that she has for her film studio in a separate building at the back of her property. And we took a peek into their podcasting room – which looked much like a radio broadcast room.

Downtown Cary – Central to It All

So why downtown Cary? Patty said many of her business colleagues in the Triangle have asked her that. Before settling on the space that she gutted and renovated in the heart of Cary, Briguglio had also considered downtown Raleigh. And the permitting process here in Cary was a bit more arduous than she anticipated. But, when all was said and done, many MMI clients are located in Cary, and the location was also central to her current employees.

The building has undergone extensive renovation work, including opening up the foyer ceiling and the use of exposed beams to create an airy open space. The conference room is open to the foyer and can be divided into two rooms by a folding wall. All the rooms are shades of the MMI signature muted grey with accents of bright red. Patty emphasized that branding is key and they wanted their space to speak to who they are as a brand.

The final touches include a sign they are waiting to install at street level and a repaving of the current parking lot.

MMI is eager to dig into the business of encouraging more development downtown. The firm has already joined the Heart of Cary Association and the Cary Chamber. Here at CaryCitizen, we view the move as the first of many businesses to sprout up and locate to the Heart of Cary.
