Cary, NC – It’s high summer in Cary with three special weekend events highlighting the CaryCitizen Calendar this week.

Sound of Music Sing-a-long

Friday night, it’s the Sound of Music Sing-A-Long at Booth Amphitheatre in Cary.

This version of the Technicolor classic includes captions so the entire audience can sing along. And they will!

There’ll be a fancy-dress competition in which everyone who has come in costume is invited onto the stage to show off their fantastic tailoring skills.

2nd Annual Cary Scavenger Hunt

It’s not too late to get in the 2011 Cary Scavenger Hunt.

Show off your competitive spirit, your ingenuity and your knowledge of Cary. Great prizes include 10 VIP tickets to Styx and a party tent for 20 at Movies by Moonlight.

RailHawks vs. Edmonton

Finally, rounding our trio of high summer events, the RailHawks face FC Edmonton at 7 o’clock on Saturday at Wake Med Soccer Park in Cary.

It’s the first home game since the Hawks transferred captain Brad Rusin to HB Køge in Denmark. Rusin anchored the defense in front of the goal and the Hawks are 0-1-1 since his departure.

Carolina still lead the NASL in total points. Saturday night should be a good test of the mettle of the team.
