Weather: Sleet and Snow Friday Afternoon
Cary, NC – It looks like more wintry weather is on the way to the Triangle with a good chance of snow, ice and sleet in the afternoon and evening on Friday.
Sleet and Snow Friday Afternoon
According to AccuWeather, Friday will start out cold and cloudy with temperatures in the upper 20’s and low 30’s.
Around 1 PM, the precipitation will start. Forecasters predict a wintry mix of snow, sleet and ice until evening.
Accumulations are expected from a light coating up to an inch of the frozen mix. Expect roads, bridges and sidewalks to be slippery.
Precipitation will taper off after 9 PM. Saturday is expected to be sunny and slightly warmer, with high around 42° F.
Be Careful Out There
Mother Nature is notoriously unpredictable, but Friday’s weather could prove dangerous for drivers and pedestrians. Town of Cary will be spraying brine (salty water) on major roads to prevent formation of ice.
Drive carefully if you must be out on Friday afternoon and evening.
Next week looks sunny and mild, with temps returning to the 50’s and 60’s.
