Cary Art Loop – Tour local galleries, hob nob and have something to eat and drink. Always a good time. More info: CaryArtLoop.org.

Jamrock at Page-Walker – Part of the Starlight concert series, 7-9 PM. Authentic “Yard Style” Jamaican reggae. More info on the Calendar.

Silver Linings Playbook (2012 – R) – Part of the Movies by Moonlight Series at Koka Booth Amphitheatre. Starring Bradley Cooper, Jennifer Lawrence and Robert DeNiro. $3 for adults, kids under 12 free.

Fifth of Blues at Billsborough Music Hall –  Hillsborough NC, 10 PM. Okay, this is a long drive from Cary. But last week, the band drew about 250 people to Rallypoint in Cary with about 50 people jamming the dance floor. Fifth of Blues will return to RallyPoint in Cary on Friday, August 9.

Roundabout 5K – 8 – 10 AM in Downtown Cary. Celebrate the new roundabouts on East & West Chatham Streets in Downtown Cary. Proceeds benefit the Relief For Recreation scholarship fund.

Mariposa Music Festival – Booth Amphitheatre, 4-11 PM. The festival is to raise awareness and to celebrate the accomplishments of The Mariposa School, a nationally recognized school, for children with autism and other developmental delays. Proceeds raised from this evening will go directly towards helping local families, so we encourage everyone to come out and show their support for this great cause! Bands include Jeanne Jolly, The Outliers, Mind the Gap, A City Apart and Ira Planer and the Rank Outsiders. More info: http://www.mariposamusicfestival.org/.

Tea and Buffaloe – Carolyn Buffaloe Whaley, that is. Bring your favorite tea cup and listen to local historians talk about our County’s history through the growth of its towns. Programs are free and the tea is provided! Registration is required as seating is limited to 25 per session.
