Weekend Events Crank Up

Cary, NC — After a couple of weeks of post-New Year’s blues, weekend events are once again cranking up in Cary.

On Friday morning, Cary Mayor Harold Weinbrecht will deliver his State of the Town address to the Cary Chamber at Prestonwood Country Club. This event was rescheduled from Wednesday due to overnight snow.

Also Friday, the Morrisville Chamber holds its 23rd Annual Luncheon at:

Friday night features the weekly beer tasting at Triangle Wine Company, Improv at Cary High and live jazz at UnVined.

All weekend, Winter Wonderland brings real snow and sledding to Bond Park from Friday to Sunday. Advanced registration is required. Visit the Calendar for more details.

Also at Bond Park this Saturday, the Cary Games Table Tennis Tournament. Online Registration Closed January 18, 2014 but contact FitandAble@nc.rr.com if you’d like to play. Or just go and watch.

From 8:45 AM – 3:30 PM, Cary-Apex Piano Teachers Association (CAPTA) presents Music Safari at Cary Arts center with performances, games and more. For more, visit capta.trail- song.org.

Saturday night, treat yourself to a good glass of wine and some acoustic rock with virtuoso piano when the Lounge Doctors play UnVined starting at 8:30.

Farmers Markets – Weekend Hours

Devotees of Cary’s farmer’s markets already know they are open in the winter. Now you do, too.

The Downtown Cary Farmer’s Market is open Saturdays between 8 am & 12.30 pm. The Western Wake Farmer’s Market has winter hours from 9:30 AM – 12 PM.

In season now: Arugula, Bok Choi, Brussel Sprouts, Broccoli, Cabbage, Collards, Kale, Lettuce, Mushrooms, Potatoes, Turnips and Winter Squash. You’re also likely to find meats, cheeses, fish and other local products at both markets.

    Per their website, looks like the CAPTA event at the Cary Arts Center on Saturday is postponed until the fall…

      Thanks for your comment. We are always alerted when events needed to be added to our calendar, but not always when they are canceled or postponed, which must be the case with this event. With thousands of events each month, we no cannot go checking each and every business’ website to check on schedule changes. The CaryCitizen Calendar is a free service we offer to Cary organizations, and we rely on them to keep us up to date.
