Cary, NC — This Saturday, November 15, 2014, Bright Horizons at Harrison Park will host Triangle Truck Day, with all proceeds benefiting the Bright Horizons Foundation for Children.

The Bright Horizons Foundation

Bright Horizons schools are known for their loving, supportive, and enriching preschool and early education environments both in and outside of the Triangle area. What many don’t know is that this love extends far beyond the classrooms.

To fulfill the school’s mission to “make a difference in the lives of children and families,” the Bright Horizons Foundation for Children was created in 1999. Since its launch, the foundation has been able to expand its outreach to help even more individuals–so much so that another foundation was established in Europe in 2005.

As a nonprofit organization, The Bright Horizons Foundation works to support similar nonprofits that hold programs for children and their families. The foundation places a special effort on helping families in crisis.

To do this, the organization supports and creates “bright” or warm, safe, and enriching spaces in homeless shelters and other agencies. Through these “Bright Spaces,” more than 10,000 homeless children are helped each month.

Touch a Truck–Help a Child!

Triangle Truck Day will provide children with a chance to explore and have a great time while they learn about the importance of helping others. The suggested entrance fee of $5 will benefit the Bright Horizons Foundation.

Children are invited to touch, explore, and climb in the trucks.

The event will feature a wide range of trucks for all ages of children and adults to enjoy, including a fire truck, dump truck and dingo, smart car, motorcycles, military Humvee, and more! There will also be face painting, activities and games, and music from local children’s musicians Uncle John and Kona Ice.
