Business Bits: What’s New in Cary?

Business

Cary, NC — New restaurants and businesses are popping up every week in Cary. To keep track of them all, we’ve started our Business Bits column, or your guide to what’s new in Cary.

Now Open in Cary

A lot has come to Cary in the past six months. We’ve organized this list of brand-new and “been-here-a-little-while” businesses into several different categories.

Restaurants

Guacamaya Fresh Mex, 101 Ledgestone Way, Cary
This new-to-Cary “fresh Mex” restaurant started out as Chubby’s Tacos and has locations across the Triangle. Guests can enjoy a large drink and dessert menu in addition to entree items.

Tijuana Flats, 12102 Bradford Green Square, Cary
Stop by Bradford Place (near the recently-opened Publix Supermarket) to try out Tijuana Flats, a fast-causal Tex-Mex restaurant with great customer service.

Noodles & Company, 1120 Parkside Main Street, Cary
Noodles & Company locations are popping up all over the Triangle. There are already two in the Cary area (at Crossroads Plaza and Park West Village), but another opened recently in Parkside Town Commons as well.

Crosstown Pub140 E. Chatham Street, Downtown Cary
This family-owned pub is bringing new life to the Downtown Cary food scene. It’s located right next to The Cary Theater and is a great place to grab a beer, snack or made-fresh entree that won’t “break the bank.”

Totopos Street Food & Tequila, 1388 Kildaire Farm Road, Cary
Totopos has been open for several months now on Kildaire Farm Road (in the old Chili’s restaurant). We had lunch there the other day and enjoyed a lighter take on Mexican favorites.

Sweet Treats

Duck Donuts100 Wrenn Drive, # 101, Cary
In February, our article about the new Duck Donuts near Cary’s post office topped the list in number of views. It’s not surprising–who doesn’t love donuts? These are made to order, and guests can choose from a variety of new ingredients, like maple bacon and coconut donuts.

Menchie’s Frozen Yogurt, 7169 O’Kelly Chapel Road, Cary
A Menchie’s has called Waverly Place home for awhile now, but a new location opened in Cary on Monday, April 20, 2015. On Saturday, April 25, 2015 from 11 am-1 pm, guests will receive free frozen yogurt. Opening week festivities continue through Friday, May 1, 2015.

Grocery Store

Earth Fare at Park West Village, 951 Morrisville Parkway, Morrisville
Earth Fare opened just a month ago, but it’s already a popular shopping spot for health-conscious residents in Cary and Morrisville. Just how popular is it? Shoppers showed up at 3 am for the store’s grand opening.

Crafting Center

The Cary Creative CenterCary Towne Center (beside Sears’ old home)
Stop by Cary Towne Center to check out the Cary Creative Center, or C3’s, new location. This “thrift store for artists” is a great place to shop for discount craft supplies, take art classes, donate old craft items or get some creative ideas for new activities and crafts.

Coworking

Cary Coworking, 145 W. Chatham Street, Downtown Cary
Coworking is a trendy, social, suburban-inspired twist on classic workplace settings. There are big plans in place for Cary coworking at the moment but, right now, you can give it a try in Downtown Cary in this new location.

Beer

Pharmacy Bottle + Beverage, 120 E. Chatham Street, Downtown Cary
Pharmacy Bottle + Beverage is brand-new and right beside The Cary Theater. Stop in to enjoy or shop for great craft beers and local brews.
