Supermarket Wars

It’s been a big couple of years for Cary supermarkets. Harris Teeter and Food Lion still dominate the area, but, all of a sudden, some new-to-the-area stores are being thrown into the mix.

Publix opened at the corner of High House and Davis Drive in 2014, and Earth Fare opened in Park West Village only two months ago. Apart from Harris Teeter, Food Lion, Publix and Earth Fare, Cary shoppers can buy groceries from ALDI, Fresh Market, Whole Foods, Trader Joes, Kroger, Walmart Neighborhood Market and a selection of Asian Markets.

Hi all – We used a lot of open data to build the map. Funny how some listings were mysteriously misplaced. We also deleted a lot of duplicate entries.

So: we’ve moved Reedy Creek Food Lion to its proper spot and added Today Asia.

    Thanks all for the help!

Looks like you moved the Food Lion/Reedy Creek to Weston Parkway.

    Also, why not include Target?

Thanks Gannt – That’s a great idea. Maybe we’ll get to it when we go back and update the story in the future.
