Cary, NC – It wasn’t that long ago that Town of Cary put on its first Chatham Street Chowdown. This past Sunday saw a return of the popular event with big crowds, lots of food trucks and a smoking band.
The Whisky Runners
I actually went to see the opening band, The Whisky Runners, from 5-7 PM. Good friends, good musicians; they had the crowd singing along to their high-energy twist on rock & roll.
Meanwhile, Back at the Food Truck Rodeo
We found parking easily on Harrison. The decision to move the whole event east of Academy Street was a good one. We hiked across the new brickwork at the corner of Chatham and Academy and entered the fray.
The afternoon was hot but a few clouds and plenty of shade broke up the worst of it. The crowds were large, but not oppressive. Plenty of food trucks to go around.
