Monday – Mayors Association

Monday I attended the annual Mayors Association holiday dinner which was held in Wake Forest. I was joined by council members Robinson, Smith, and Yerha as well as several staff members. It was a time of fellowship and for reconnecting with officials from all over the county. I estimate there were over 100 people in attendance. The Mayors Association and municipalities paid for the elected officials’ dinner. We all paid for our spouse’s dinner. Read more

Matthew 27:5 – “Then Judas threw the silver coins down in the Temple and went and hanged himself.” Judas Iscariot was one of the twelve disciples. As he traveled with Jesus, he witnessed miracle after miracle. Sight given to the blind, the dead raised to life and even diseased dead skin restored back to skin like that of a new born baby. But let us not forget about the greatest miracle of them all that Judas Iscariot witnessed, and that’s the miracle of forgiveness. It’s one of the hardest things for a hurt human heart to do. Some people would prefer to live out a life sentence and be imprisoned by their own unforgiveness than to forgive and be free.

Canes Lose To Red Wings, 4-1

Cary, NC – In pro sports, probably more so in hockey, every game is considered a critical game but on this five-game home stand, all games are critical to win and especially when you’re playing a team that is on a four-game losing streak and, on paper, you should be a better team.

That wasn’t the case last night when the Canes lost to the Detroit Red Wings 4-1. This will also sound odd but goalie Petr Mrazek played a good game and couldn’t be faulted on any goal. As solid as the Canes defense is, both on paper and on the ice, the Wings burnt the Canes every time there was a defense lapse. Read more
