Police Stories: Town Closes Books on 33 Burglary Cases

Cary, NC – Recently, we reported on the rash of burglaries in Cary. Last week, Cary Police arrested four people believed to be responsible for 33 break-ins. The suspects face from 6 months to 14 years of imprisonment.

29 Medical Break-Ins

Shawn Michael Flaugher, 36, of Benson, North Carolina, was arrested and charged with 29 counts of Felonious Breaking and Entering.

From July 2010 to February 2011, medical office burglaries occurred in southeastern Cary. At these businesses, power was cut off to the alarm system and surveillance cameras. Items stolen include cash and medications.

Flaugher is being held at the Wake County Public Safety Center. If convicted, he faces up to 14 years in imprisonment.

Residential Break-Ins

Cary Police have also arrested three suspects in relation to residential burglaries committed near the Lochmere community in December 2010. Suspects are: David Jeanblanc, 20, Joe Sharp, 20 and Garrett Woody, 19, all of Wake Forest.

On December 1 and the early morning hours of December 2, four separate burglaries occurred. Victims were home at the time of these incidents and stolen property included wallets, purses and electronics.

Jeanblanc and Sharp are charged with First Degree Burglary, Felony Possession of Stolen Property and Misdemeanor Possession of Stolen Property. Woody is charged with one count Felony Possession of Stolen Property.

All three suspects are being held at the Wake County Public Safety Center, where Jeanblanc and Sharp each face up to 64 months of imprisonment and Woody up to six months of imprisonment.
