Well, Shut My Mouth! The Sweet Potatoes Restaurant Cookbook (John F. Blair, Publisher) contains recipes from the well-known North Carolina restaurant, and recipes from the families of Chef Stephanie Tyson and co-owner Vivian Joiner.

The Story of Two Southern Women

Recipes that are Southern, plain and simple. Beyond the Gullah Shrimp and Crab Pilau, Cheerwine-Glazed Country Ham, and other quintessentially southern recipes, the book is also the history of the two women who started a locally (and nationally acclaimed) restaurant.  “The book is about remembering spirit and food,” says Chef Tyson. “it’s my perspective on southern food.”

The author, Stephanie Tyson has scheduled several book signings and is in Cary on September 13.
