Cary, NC – This week, the S.T.E.M. Technology Video series returns with a story about a 155 MPH all-electric Superbus.

Superbus

Superbus is the brian-child of Holland’s first astronaut, Wubbo Ockels.

Superbus is a vehicle that can drive as a normal bus. It has the same length and width but it’s much lower and more aerodynamic. It uses the same amount of energy at 250 kilometers per hour as a normal bus does at 150 KPH. And it’s electric so it fits with the future.

Antonia Terzi of Italy designed the Superbus. Terzi is best known for her design of Formula One racing cars.

Superbus is conceived for communities without access to high-speed rail. In North Carolina, Superbus could be used to connect cities like Sanford and Wilmington with Triangle rail hubs like Cary.
