Pho - Vietnamese beef noodle soup

Morrisville, NC — Who couldn’t use a hot, satisfying bowl of Pho on a cold winter day? Fortunately, we have Pho 919, a new place to get the classic Vietnamese soup right on Davis Drive in Morrisville.

Pho 919

Pho is a Vietnamese dish generally made with beef, beef stock and rice noodles. It’s a hearty soup often garnished with basil, lime, fresh bean sprouts or hot peppers.

Pho 919, now open in Morrisville Market, serves several varieties of Pho, including Pho with Brisket and Pho with Beef Balls.

The menu also features other Vietnamese and Pan-Asian dishes, plus an assortment of appetizers including Vietnamese Spring Rolls.

Finding Pho

Pho 919 is a little hard to find. It’s tucked away in a corner of Morrisville Market, the shopping center at the corner of Davis Drive and Morrisville-Carpenter. It’s the strip center with Walmart Neighborhood Market and Smithfield’s.

The restaurant has been open for nine months.

Pho Was Andy’s

Open from 11-9 daily, Pho 919 has taken over the old location Andy’s Burgers, Shakes & Fries. In fact, Pho 919 kept the decor, vaguely reminiscent of a 50’s diner, but rearranged the booths around the perimeter of the large space.

The result is a comfortable and clean environment, perfect for enjoying a bowl of beef noodle soup.

Service

Service is great – attentive and helpful.

Every table is stocked with Hoisin and Sriracha sauce. We had a nice booth by the window.

Large Portions

The ladies got giant to-go cups because they couldn’t finish their enormous bowls of soup.

The men all finished their soup.

Bottom Line

The Pho we had was fantastic – everyone enjoyed it. Rich and hearty, exotic and familiar. Just the thing for a cold day in Cary (or Morrisville).

Pho 919 makes an excellent addition to the burgeoning ethnic food scene in Morrisville and western Cary.

Definitely give it a try.
