Who knew that Cary hosts one of the largest poetry festivals in the US? Last weekend, the American Turkish Association of North Carolina (ATA NC) held their fourth annual Nazim Hikmet Poetry Festival in Downtown Cary’s Page-Walker Arts and History Center. It was sublime.

Cary Family Dental Free Clinic This Saturday

For several years, Dr. Allan Acton of Cary Family Dental has held a smile makeover contest, whereby the deserving winners received a free dental makeover. This year, his office has decided to open up their services on a first-come, first-served basis for free services on Saturday April 14, 2012.

“Monologues” Fight Domestic Violence

The Vagina Monologues debuted in 1999 at the Westside Theater off-Broadway. At the time, just saying the word “vagina” made people uncomfortable, and still does for many. But the issues raise in the play are important, and the work is getting a reading here in Cary starting on April 12.
