It’s a busy weekend in Cary, with the 31st year of Yankovic Day, home games by both the North Carolina Courage and North Carolina FC, and much more.
This past Saturday, December 3, 2016, there were several holiday events all around Downtown Cary, culminating with the town’s official tree lighting at Town Hall.
This weekend was the 10th annual Beer, Bourbon and BBQ Festival in Cary. And while wet weather bore down on Koka Booth Amphitheater on Friday, lots of locals still came out to enjoy the food and drinks in the rain and then came back on Saturday.
Festive polka was played Friday, July 22, 2016 evening at the Page-Walker house in Downtown Cary. In spite of nearly 100 degree temperatures, approximately 200 people were in attendance to hear the Polka Plus Band play for the 21st Frankie Yankovic Day.
Decisions included making the Lazy Daze festival two days long and amending the architectural standards for the town center to require less masonry. The council also approved the sidewalk priority list, which postponed the Walker Street sidewalk until next year’s budget.
Just over 300 local middle and high school students participated in the annual Green Hope Orchestra Festival on Thursday, October 15, 2015.

Bright Horizons hosted their annual Triangle Truck Day on November 15, 2014 to raise money for the Bright Horizons Foundation for Children. The interactive day provided “truckloads” of fun for families and taught children the importance of helping others.
