Cary, NC — Thursday’s regular meeting of the Cary Town Council was primarily focused on discussing the proposed annexation of properties on Roberts Road and Page Road to make way for the development of 99 townhome units. Other topics included the completion of the 311 system, the RDU quarry and further proposals to go to the planning and zoning board. Read more

Cary, NC — This is my first post in two weeks due to the holiday break. Most of that time was spent gathering information for my State of Cary address which I will deliver for the first time in late January. Read more
Cary, NC – In this year’s annual economic forecast for the Cary Chamber of Commerce, there are a number of positive trends across the nation’s economy but some big unanswered questions, both domestic and abroad, still make the future uncertain.
Cary, NC – There were only a few activities this week as things wind down for the holidays.
Monday I joined council members Smith, Yerha, and Liu as well as several Cary staff members at the Mayors Association holiday dinner in Wake Forest. All participants paid their way except the mayors whose dinner was included in their annual dues. There were about 150 people in attendance.
Cary, NC – There were several pieces of business news to end the year, including a number of new businesses announced for Fenton; a new sports facility in Morrisville; two new restaurants in The Shoppes of Kildaire and more. Read more
Cary, NC – North Carolina is currently in the midst of flu season, with six deaths recorded this year, meaning this flu season is months earlier than previous years’. Read more
Morrisville, NC – Microsoft is expanding their Morrisville office with 500 new jobs over the next four years, investing $2.1 billion in exchange for more than $14 million in economic benefits. Read more
Cary, NC – This week was eventful and busy.
Monday’s meetings were moved to Tuesday so that I could attend a big event for my wife.
Tuesday I contacted council members to hear of concerns or questions about Thursday’s agenda. There were some concerns about the Ivey-Ellington house in the Developer agreement for the Harrison Avenue and Chatham proposal. Later in the day I met with managers and directors to go over the agenda. We talked about the sequence of events for the oaths and the business meeting. I believed at the time the meeting would last until 9:30.
