Miracle Day at Green Acres Farm

Cary, NC – On Saturday, September 3, children with disabilities will take a break from life in the city while participating in a special Miracle Day at Green Acres Farm in Cary.  Players and families of the Miracle League of the Triangle will receive free admission to the farm and corn maze. More than 200 families have registered to attend. Read more

After Years of Planning, Morrisville Kicks Off Community Fund

Morrisville, N.C. – The brainchild of several involved citizens led by former Mayor of Morrisville Jan Faulkner finally came to fruition on Thursday night with a champagne toast and the “ringing of the bell” by Mayor Jackie Holcombe’s daughter, Lindsay. Red Cross Blood Drive – 1 Pint Can Save Three Lives

The Story of Read and Feed

Cary, NC – Several years ago, Jan Elmo was volunteering as a tutor at Northwoods Elementary when she had an epiphany that every child does not have the opportunity to develop a love of reading.

In October of 2007, after spending  months researching what she could do about the problem, Elmo quit her corporate job and purchased an RV Van to start Read and Feed at Penny Road Elementary in Cary. Read more
