Cary, NC- Patterned after the Marine Corps’ Toys-for-Tots program, the Heart of Cary’s ‘Share the Season’ Toy Drive was created last year for the purpose of getting new, unwrapped toys into the hands of children in our community who would otherwise have nothing to look forward to on Christmas morning. It’s a simple premise and one which could not be accomplished without the help and support of more than a dozen businesses throughout the Downtown area. Read more

Survey of Area Non- Profits

Cary, NC -There are strengths in numbers, and for non-profit organizations, often strapped for funds, an umbrella organization may be able to help. Executive Service Corps of the Triangle (ESC) recently sent out a survey to non-profits in the Cary area to test the need for just such an organizing group. Read more

St. Jude’s Walk-a-Thon – July 15

Morrisville, NC – S.A.S Helping Hearts consist of a small team of middle and elementary-age students who express their gratitude by helping sick children through organizing annual fund raisers for various children’s hospitals. Last year, their first event was for Duke University Children’s Hospital and included a yard sale which raised almost three thousand dollars. This year’s goal plans to double that amount, and the proceeds will go to St. Jude Hospital. Read more

Friendly Baseball Game Benefits Cancer Research

Cary, NC- Bats For Matt is this Saturday, April 14, 2012.  It’s much more than a baseball game between area high schools (Green Hope and Cardinal Gibbons). In its sixth year, the event raises money and awareness to fight lymphoma, a disease that took Matt Cossa from his friends and family in 2006.
