That’s exactly what I thought during a PTA meeting I attended a few weeks ago at my son’s school!! While covering many different topics in the meeting, Mrs. Bame, my son’s Principal, began to veer off of the path a little. She started talking about this lady named Maria! Mrs. Bame went on and on about how loving, caring and neccesary Maria is to everyone in the school, especially the children! As Mrs. Bame continued to brag about the “Wonderful Maria,” whom I had never met, I could almost see tears building up in her eyes.
Sams-Jones House Gets Potential New Tenant
Cary, NC – Since early 2016, the Sams-Jones House has sat empty as the Town of Cary looked for a new tenant. Now, town staff have selected a potential business to fill the historic house and Town Council will vote on approving the lease later this week. Read more

Cary Girl Scout Brings the Arts to Senior Citizens
Cary, NC – Getting involved in the arts can have benefits for all parts of life, but as people get older, access to artistic expression can become more difficult. One local Girl Scout created a project to ensure Cary senior citizens got involved in painting, earning herself one of the Girl Scouts’ top awards in the process. Read more
Cary-Based Andia’s Wins Second-Place in National Ice Cream Competition

Cary, NC – In their first entry into the largest national competition for ice cream makers, Andia’s Homemade Ice Cream in Cary finished with the second-highest score of any entrants, earning this honor the same year they opened their first physical store. Read more
The State of Solar in Cary

Cary, NC – Last week, at about 10:45 AM according to the Duke Energy outage map, more than 12,000 customers were affected by the loss of power. By 11:30 AM, that number had been reduced to just over 3,000 customers, including the Town of Cary buildings and facilities. It took some customers until around 2:45 PM to get power back, once again according to the Duke Energy outage map. Yes Solar Solutions, located in Cary, North Carolina was right in the mix when the outages moved down Maynard Road, from Harrison Avenue to High House Road. Read more

Cary, NC – FBI reports over the recent years have shown that Cary is one of the safest places to live in the country and especially North Carolina when considering population size. A new study echoes this as Cary ranks as the second-safest town in North Carolina and one of the safest nationwide when taking population into account. Read more
