Samaritan’s Corner: The Easel of Jesus

Welcome To Samaritan’s Corner. Let’s Talk!

“If I had to paint a picture to show the world how true love can really be, I would use the brightest colors to create a vision of harmony.”

These are the opening lyrics to the song “What Is The Color Of Love” by Billy Ocean. He was big time back in the 1980s and early 1990s. I was on a long bike ride last week and this song came to mind.

Samaritan’s Corner: 19 To Life

What is it with people that are called to this kind of ministry? Why them? How many of us would answer the call to leave everything we’ve ever known? Our families, this country and all of the amenities that come with it? Would you trade it all in to spread the Gospel in a foreign land where you didn’t even speak the language? Humans fear the unknown. Or better yet, what we know we can’t control which leads to our greatest hesitations, fears and doubts.

Samaritan’s Corner: Dr. King! No More Dreams

Welcome To Samaritan’s Corner. Let’s Talk!

“I have a dream that one day little black boys and girls, will be holding hands with little white boys and girls.” On Wednesday, August 28 1963, standing on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. gave his “I have a dream” speach. In that speech is when he spoke about black and white children holding hands. Well Dr. King, it is my honor, privilege and blessing handed straight down from heaven to be able to say to you that they’ve gone from holding hands to putting their arms around each other! Hallelujah!!

Samaritan’s Corner: Concussion At The Cross

Welcome to Samaritan’s Corner. Let’s Talk!

Hebrews 12:1 – “Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the “JOY” that was set before Him endured the cross.

And that my friends is exactly where I’m starting this article from.

Samaritan’s Corner: He Is His Black History

Welcome to Samaritan’s Corner. Let’s Talk!

So it’s Black History Month. It’s a month that’s celebrated by some and despised by other. Some have a great appreciation for it, and some find it insulting. For me personally, you can’t sum up my black history in 28 days, and you certainly can’t expect me to shout in celebration because we take one month out of twelve to acknowledge the black contribution to this America of which I absolutely love.

Samaritan’s Corner: Cookie Cutters Shape Cookies, Not Marriages

First column of this 2018 year, I just had to start with the triple-braided cord that holds my sweet family together! We are not the triple-braided cord, we are merely the recipients of the strength it provides! On March 22, 2018, my wife and I will be “THROWING DOWN,” celebrating ten years of marriage! I was warned by many of my married friends that it would fly by, but I had no idea how fast fly by was!
