Relias Starts Hiring for Cary Expansion

Cary, NC – Earlier this year, Relias Learning made top headlines in Cary by announcing 450 new jobs over the next five years. The company’s first round of hiring is coming soon with a job fair this week to find compatible employees.

Taking On New Jobs

Relias Learning’s job fair is this Thursday, September 22, 2016 at its offices on Corning Road and CEO Jim Triandiflou said they are looking for people of all skills and backgrounds.

“We have positions that are across the board,” Triandiflou said, listing jobs from marketing to client care to content writers. “It’s really everything.”

In this first round of hiring, Triandiflou said Relias will hire 50 new people with an additional 200 or so in 2017.

Relias Learning provides online job training with a focus on training in health care and social work as well as certification courses. Triandiflou said this focus is part of the reason why the company is expanding in Cary.

“This sector, health care and online training, is growing,” Triandiflou said. “And our company is growing quite a bit. When I started in 2012, we had 15 employees in Cary. Now we have 350.”

The other reason Triandiflou said Relias is expanding is they have many acquisitions. Over the past five years, nine companies have become a part of Relias with three more set to be acquired in the coming weeks.

Benefits of Cary

Relias doubling in size in Cary comes at a time when many companies are either choosing not to expand or pulling out of North Carolina altogether in response to the state’s controversial House Bill 2. But Triandiflou said the company has had “great success” hiring in this area.

“In 2012, we decided to make the Triangle our base of operations. It’s got the best education system for hiring and offers lots of variety,” he said.

In addition, Triandiflou said Cary is an attractive location because of its high quality of life, the relatively low cost of living, the school system and the weather.

“That was all underway before HB2,” he said. “Moving all those people would have been disruptive so we took a hard look at where we are and decided to stay.”

The job fair is on Thursday, September 22, 2016 from 6 to 8 PM at Relias Learning on 111 Corning Rd, Suite 250. Attire is business casual.
