Monday I attempted to contact all council members since there was a regularly scheduled council meeting on Thursday. I was able to contact all council members but one. Items talked about in my one-on-one discussions included the proposal for hotels on North Harrison and the Bainbridge proposal at Maynard and Chapel Hill Road. Read more

Canes Lose Last Preseason Game in OT, 5-4

Cary, NC – The Carolina Hurricanes almost pulled off a perfect record in the preseason, by losing in overtime to a strong Nashville Predator team 5-4 in overtime in front of a great crowd at the PNC Arena on Sunday, September 30, 2018. The Caniac Carnival took place before the game that appeared to have a record crowd. Earlier in the day the coaching staff made the final cuts sending eight players down to Charlotte while keeping four rookies on the team.

NBA Report: Hornets vs Celtics at the Dean Dome

Chapel Hill, NC – The weather was mild and the crowds revved on Friday, September 28, 2018 night for the opening of the NBA Pre-Season featuring the Charlotte Hornets against the Boston Celtics at the Dean Smith Center. The stars came out to shine including Kemba Walker and newest Hornet Tony Parker as well as Kyrie Irving, Gordon Hayward and all the Celtics. Even Roy Williams showed up for the fun. Read more
