Cary, NC – The Carolina Hurricanes lost in overtime, 5-4, against the Washington Capitals but the mysterious extra point allowed the Canes to get into wildcard spot for the playoffs. The Canes and Caps will seem like they’re in the playoffs now as they’ll see each other three times in the next 11 days. If tonight’s game was any indication of the next two, those should be physical and entertaining games. Read more
Cary, NC – With Cam Ward in goal again, the Carolina Hurricanes came from behind and beat the Pittsburgh Penguins, 2-1, at a nearly full PNC Arena Friday night. The Penguins always bring a good crowd as there are many that made the move to God’s Country giving Cary its famous acronym, as well as having won the Stanley Cup the past two seasons. Read more

The Canes started the game four points outside a spot for the Wild Card spot for the playoffs and this solid win over the top team in the highly competitive Metropolitan Division should do a lot for the confidence of this young team and the loyal Caniacs. Cary, NC – The Carolina Hurricanes and the Florida Panthers played one of the most exciting games of the season that had everything any hockey fan could ask for: a home team win, fast play that got the crowd into the game early and throughout the game, a successful powerplay, successful penalty kill, a very exciting overtime and plenty of entertainment off the ice as the game theme was Star Wars with The Force being with the Caniacs on and off the ice. Cary, NC – The Carolina Hurricanes had two close calls this weekend, narrowly losing one game against the Toronto Maple Leafs on Friday and barely winning a big game against the Nashville Predators on Sunday.
Cary, NC – After a very disappointing game Saturday night, losing to the Blackhawks, 4-3 in OT after going into the third with a 3-1 lead, the Carolina Hurricanes bounced back in a big way with a 5-1 win over the Dallas Stars, lead by Teuvo Teravainen’s first career hat trick, all scored in the third period. Cary, NC – With the Canes coming home after a big 6-3 win over the Toronto Maple Leafs in Toronto the night before, back-up goalie Cam Ward was in for the Canes while back-up Carter Hutton was tending net for the Blues. For the first time since Ward’s rookie year, he’s currently the legitimate back-up. The Canes lost 2-1 but Ward’s play was exceptional and both Blues’ goals were on rebounds after phenomenal saves.
