This week was an important week for me and the Town of Cary as I traveled to Washington to talk with our Congressional delegation and federal agencies. My journal this week details many of my activities in Washington in hopes of giving a better understanding of why I go there and what I do.
Tuesday started with meeting the town manager for our weekly get-together. We talked mostly about issues within the downtown opportunity site. We also discussed issues related to technology.
This weekend has a few unusual offerings including the annual Daddy-Daughter Dance, a wine dinner at the Matthews House, an open house for Research Triangle High school and more.
There’s never a dull moment in Cary. January 3rd saw the first meeting of the Heart of Cary Association at The Matthews House. Ben Shivar, Cary Town Manager, reviewed where the Town has been in 2012 and where it’s going in 2013.
Oh the joy of the Holiday season! This is the time of year that we make sure our home looks its best. The parties…the family gatherings…all the social engagements that make this the most wonderful time of the year…to show and sell your house!
Patterned after the Marine Corps’ Toys-for-Tots program, the Heart of Cary’s ‘Share the Season’ Toy Drive was created last year for the purpose of getting new, unwrapped toys into the hands of children in our community who would otherwise have nothing to look forward to on Christmas morning.
It looks like great weather for Reel-ly Scary Movies this weekend. Plus, a series of Halloween events downtown on Saturday and YOTA takes over the bakery on Sunday. All this and more on the CaryCitizen Weekend Calendar of Events.
Just another quiet weekend in Cary, NC. The State Fair will be roaring into its second weekend just over the town line on Hillsborough Street. Grace Potter and the Nocturnals will be at Booth Amph on Friday; Hum Sub’s Diwali Festival will be there on Saturday.
