Starting in 2018, the Town of Cary has been deciding what to do with three historic sites, both through professional evaluations and citizen surveys. Now, the town has announced its plans, with funding for repairs and restorations on these historic buildings already secured.
It’s one of the coldest weekends of the year (so far) so keep warm by having fun around town. It’s Final Friday Art Loop in Cary and you can also see the Bluegrass Experience at the Cary Theater, a dinner and a concert at the Cary Arts Center and more.
This weekend is the final one for this run of the North Carolina Chinese Lantern Festival at Koka Booth Amphitheatre. In addition to the festival, you can also see live music and comedy at the Cary Theater, shop at the weekend farmers’ markets and more.
It’s the first weekend of 2019 so get the year started right. The annual tradition of the Three Kings Parade will run in Downtown Cary and there are many concerts from local bands, plus much more.
As the year winds down, there is not as much new business news in town but we do have a few big items to note as new tenants are announced for the Fenton development and new health and fitness related businesses come to the area.
Visitors to Chatham Street may notice a change to one of Downtown Cary’s most historic buildings as the Ivey-Ellington House’s roof has been stripped and re-painted as part of a stabilization effort by the Town of Cary.
Even after several items on the agenda were tabled before the meeting started, the latest Cary Town Council meeting still saw a lot of discussion with a Public Hearing on rezoning land for townhomes that saw a lot of public input, a vote on part of the Village at the Park district and more.
Another in a long line of studies giving Cary accolades, Money Magazine ranked Cary fifth nationwide for best places to live, citing size, household income and education.
