Canes Snap Slump With 3-1 Win Over Panthers

Not sure if it was the knowledge of home cooking with seven of the next 10 games at the PNC Arena, playing a third bad team in a row or the desperation that something has to change, and change quickly, as the season could have started slipping away, but the Canes pulled through with a satisfying 3-1 win over the Florida Panthers Tuesday, November 7, 2017.

Canes Lose to Tampa Bay 5-1

The Carolina Hurricanes returned home after a semi-successful, two-wins-two-losses-long road trip. The Canes played better than the 2-2 record, which is very encouraging considering their records in recent past years for the get-out-of-town-for the-State-Fair road trip.

Canes Lose in OT Against Columbus

The Carolina Hurricanes garnered a point from the 2-1 overtime loss to the Columbus Blue Jackets to close out their short home stand before vacating the PNC Arena while the State Fair is in town. Like the Canes, Columbus is another small market team and doesn’t get a lot of NHL press. But don’t underestimate them – they are a very good team with an outstanding goalie and are the only team in the NHL younger, by a two month average, than the Canes.

Canes Beat Capitals 3-1 to End Preseason

The Carolina Hurricanes  won their last preseason game against the Washington Capitals 3-1 to end their preseason with a mark of five wins, two losses. The teams on the ice were as close to opening night rosters with the game having nearly everything a regular season game would have. Big name missing was Alex Ovechkin for Washington.
