Canes Drop Crucial Game to Flyers in OT, 2-1

If ever this season there was a time to step up, the game against the Philadelphia Flyers was it. The Flyers were just a point ahead of the Canes with both teams just outside of a playoff spot. Whoever wins leapfrogs into the mix, but it just wasn’t the Canes night as they scored just one goal for the third straight game.

Vegas Deal Canes Big Loss

The newest team in the NHL, the Las Vegas Golden Knights, entered the game as “the best in the west” and left the game as “best in the NHL” as they beat the Carolina Hurricanes, 5-1, in a game the Canes were never in from the drop of the puck.

Canes Lose 5-4 in OT But Make Playoff Wildcard Spot

The Carolina Hurricanes lost in overtime, 5-4, against the Washington Capitals but the mysterious extra point allowed the Canes to get into wildcard spot for the playoffs. The Canes and Caps will seem like they’re in the playoffs now as they’ll see each other three times in the next 11 days. If tonight’s game was any indication of the next two, those should be physical and entertaining games.

Canes Win Streak Now At Four With 2-1 Win Over Penguins

With Cam Ward in goal again, the Carolina Hurricanes came from behind and beat the Pittsburgh Penguins, 2-1, at a nearly full PNC Arena Friday night. The Penguins always bring a good crowd as there are many that made the move to God’s Country giving Cary its famous acronym, as well as having won the Stanley Cup the past two seasons.

Canes Win Streak At Three With 2-1 Win Over Blue Jackets

With any luck, the first time for three wins in a row may be the turning point for the Canes. The Canes started the game four points outside a spot for the Wild Card spot for the playoffs and this solid win over the top team in the highly competitive Metropolitan Division should do a lot for the confidence of this young team and the loyal Caniacs.

Canes Have Solid Win in 3-2 OT Win Over Panthers

The Carolina Hurricanes and the Florida Panthers played one of the most exciting games of the season that had everything any hockey fan could ask for: a home team win, fast play that got the crowd into the game early and throughout the game, a successful powerplay, successful penalty kill, a very exciting overtime and plenty of entertainment off the ice as the game theme was Star Wars with The Force being with the Caniacs on and off the ice.
