Canes End 2019 With 3-1 Win Over Canadiens
Cary, NC – It was exactly a year ago, New Year’s Eve, when the Canes beat the Flyers 3-1 to start their surge for the playoffs. The Canes are in a better league standing than they were last year at this time, but with the Metro division so tight and competitive, they’re hoping for as close a déjà vu as possible. If beating the Montreal Canadiens with the identical score of 3-1 is any indication of good things to follow, the Canes are on that train.

Canes End Three Game Skid With 6-4 Win Over Capitals
Cary, NC – If you’re on a three-game losing streak, in which you’ve given up a ridiculous amount of goals with below average goaltending, facing the league’s best team in the Washington Capitals would not be among your top choice. Probably not even in your top 10 choices but they were next on the schedule and knowing coach Rod Brind’Amour, he could care less who they faced, they just needed to right the ship.

Monday – Mayors Association
Monday I joined council members Smith, Yerha, and Liu as well as several Cary staff members at the Mayors Association holiday dinner in Wake Forest. All participants paid their way except the mayors whose dinner was included in their annual dues. There were about 150 people in attendance.
Canes Fall To Panthers 4-2 After Historic Road Trip
Cary, NC – The Carolina Hurricanes fell to the Florida Panthers 4-2 before nearly a sellout crowd after they just returned from their best five-game road trip in franchise history. The Canes garnered nine out of a possible 10 points on a trip through western Canada ending up in Colorado.
