My typical weekly one-on-one meeting with the town manager was cancelled on Monday so my only duty was to sign papers.

Tuesday – Downtown Park Meeting

Tuesday I joined the entire council and about 200 residents for a public meeting regarding phase II of the downtown park. The consultant’s presentation lasted about 30 to 45 minutes and included information captured from a public workshop held earlier in the year. Read more

Cary, NC – Cary is one of the greatest communities to live in America. Yet after a heavy storm event, for some of our citizens, it’s all washed up.

Stormwater and flooding have caused problems for decades – especially in older areas of town developed before 2000 when Cary didn’t have many of the stormwater mitigation regulations and riparian buffer requirements that we have today. Some homes were literally constructed in a floodplain – a practice that is prohibited today. Aging and in some cases, inadequate infrastructure is also a concern. Read more

Monday – Veterans Day

Monday was the observed holiday for Veterans Day so I had no duties or activities.

Tuesday – Planning for Week

Tuesday I contacted council members to hear of questions or concerns they may have had about Thursday’s upcoming regularly scheduled council meeting. The main topic of my individual discussions was the proposed hotels on North Harrison. It was my belief after these discussions that the proposal would pass by at least a 4 to 3 vote.
