Canes Come Up Short Against Penguins, 3-1

Cary, NC – The Carolina Hurricanes lost to the defending Stanley Cup Champions, the Pittsburgh Penguins, 3-1 for their fifth straight loss and dimming the light on any chance of making the wild card spot for the playoffs. The light isn’t completely turned off but unless the Canes can put together a long string of wins coupled with a long string of losses by seven teams above them, the Canes will miss the playoffs again this year. Canes Continue Home Dominance in 2-1 Win Over Oilers

Cary, NC – The Caniacs finally got to see second year phenom, Connor McDavid and he’s everything, and more, that’s been written about him. Even during warmups, he was impressive: his speed is second to none, he’s strong, big, as accurate as a shooter as you’ll fine and can pick his spot like a sniper a mile away.

Aho’s Hat Trick Leads Canes Over Flyers, 5-1

Cary, NC – Sebastian Aho is just 19 years old but plays with the confidence and savvy of a seasoned veteran who has played hockey for 19 years, scored his first career Hat Trick against the Flyers in a solid game for the entire team after the All Star break.  The Canes were riding a five game losing streak while the Flyers were on a three game winning streak, barely holding on to the last playoff spot so this game was important for both teams. Canes Beat Best In The NHL to Continue Home Streak

Cary, NC – The Carolina Hurricanes won an interesting game against the hottest team in the NHL this season, the Columbus Blue Jackets in a 5-3 win Tuesday night. The Blue Jackets had a 16 game win streak stopped last week and are the biggest surprise of the NHL this season.  This was the first of three games between these division rivals over the next 12 days so this series should be fun to watch.
