Canes, Svechnikov Douse Flames, 2-1

Cary, NC – For the second game in a row, Andrei Svechnikov score two goals, the first will easily be the NHL top goal of the month, to beat the Calgary Flames with a come from behind 2-1 victory. The Flames have three former Canes players as well as two coaches so the desire from each team wanting a win is just that much more.

Former Cane Elias Lindholm heard the boo birds nearly every time he hit the ice as last year after a Flames win at the RBC Arena, Lindy mocked the Storm Surge which offended the Caniacs who forget nothing.

Canes, Mrazek Blank Blackhawks

Cary, NC – After a bad week away from the PNC Arena in which the Canes only garnered three out of a possible eight points, Coach Rod Brind’Amour was all smiles as the Canes had all cyclinders going for them in a solid 4-0 win over the Chicago Blackhawks.

Canes Top Montreal in SO, 4-3

Cary, NC – Coaches strive for getting goals that are a result of hard work and continuous effort in front of the net after a shot is blocked. One name for this is greasy goals. In addition to getting under every opponent’s skin, Chad LaRose made a career getting those greasy goals. Those goals count as much as the jaw dropping, highlight reel goals by Connor McDavid.

The Canes scored two greasy goals in their season opener against the Montreal Canadiens, 4-3 in a very unpredictable shootout with the tall guy, Dougie Hamilton, scoring the only goal in the shootout.

Canes Still Unscored Upon In Preseason

Cary, NC – It may be just preseason, but having shutouts in both preseason games so far has to be good for the confidence of all four goalies used, head coach Rod Brind’Amour and new goalie coach, the former college teammate of Roddy as well as former Hartford Whaler, Jason Muzzatti, as well as the defensive corps.

Hurricanes’ Williams “Takes a Break,” Plus 3-for-1 Game Special

Cary, NC – The long awaited decision of Justin Williams came over the Labor Day weekend when he announced he would “take a break” from hockey. It was not a retirement announcement, but the precision of any professional sport is such that any time away is that much harder to get in the groove if he decides the break is over.
