Canes No Show in Third Is Beyond Belief

Cary, NC – After a miserable effort against the weakest team in the NHL for 2018 the night before, losing to the NY Rangers 6-3 in NY, the Canes had a 3-1 lead going into the third period against a very strong, rental-filled Boston Bruins team, increasing the lead to 4-1 within the first minute of the period, collapsing like house of cards, yielding five goals to virtually end their season.  Read more

Cary, NC – When Bill Peters came to Raleigh to interview for the head coaching job, he had a notebook in tow with analytics about every category regarding the Canes and where the team was good and where the longer list was of where the team needed improvement. Faulk’s Hat Trick Leads Canes Over Kings, 7-3

Cary, NC – Some nights everything seems to go right and some nights everything seems to go wrong.  On the eve of Valentine’s Day, everything went right for the Carolina Hurricanes as they pummeled the L.A. Canes Snap Skid, Sweep Both Games Over the Weekend

Cary, NC – It took just 14 seconds for the Carolina Hurricanes to score a five-on-five goal in what seemed like forever when Brett Pesce put in his second of the season establishing a new record for the fastest goal in the franchise by a defenseman. With back to back games this weekend, coach Bill Peters selected Scott Darling to be in the net with the Canucks at this point of the season, are the weaker of the two teams plus the Canucks best player got hurt the night before in Tampa Bay.  Read more

Canes Drop Crucial Game to Flyers in OT, 2-1

Cary, NC – If ever this season there was a time to step up, the game against the Philadelphia Flyers was it. The Flyers were just a point ahead of the Canes with both teams just outside of a playoff spot. Whoever wins leapfrogs into the mix, but it just wasn’t the Canes night as they scored just one goal for the third straight game. Read more

Pesce Scores First, Ward Gets Second Shutout Against Habs

Cary, NC – Cam Ward is back being the Canes #1 goalie and earned his second shutout of the season with a solid performance in a 2-0 win over the Montreal Canadiens. Brett Pesce scored his first of the season on what turned out to be the game winner early in the second.  The Canadiens have former Canes head coach Kirk Muller as their assistant coach. Muller played for the Habs and was always a fan favorite so it’s good to see him back where he is appreciated. Read more

Canes Beat Ottawa in Come From Behind Win, 2-1

Cary, NC – Fresh off the All-Star break and the start of a season-long, eight-game home stand, the Carolina Hurricanes beat a hurting Ottawa Senators team 2-1 before a home crowd that had one of the first major favors by the new owner.

Everyone in the mezzanine was given the opportunity to sit in the lower bowl or 200 level. I’d say 99 percent of the folks took advantage of the better seats with just a few remaining in the upper deck.  Sort of brought back memories of Greensboro when the upper deck had the black curtain their second year there.
