Tuesday I headed to Augusta, Georgia for my 34th year of working at the Masters Golf tournament.

Tuesday I headed to Augusta, Georgia for my 34th year of working at the Masters Golf tournament.
This week was another week of events and meetings along with a ribbon cutting with the Governor.
The items generating the most discussion were the related Public Hearings on the Wright and Oxford Hunt properties at the corner of Old Apex and West Chatham Street. The neighbors felt the proposal was too intense and had filed a valid protest petition.
Next I met with the State Director of the Trust for Public Land about a possible collaborative opportunity with Chatham County involving a future school and park site near the Wake and Chatham County line.
In news to the town, on March 7th Fitch Ratings affirmed Cary’s combined enterprise systems revenue and refunding bonds as AAA.
Friday was Celebrity Reader Day for area elementary schools. I started the morning at Cary Elementary with Ms. Baker’s third grade class. I read a Dr. Suess book called “Hurray for Diffendoofer Day” and then handed out reader awards. Then the class surprised me with…
Cary is NOT working on a development project in Chatham County near Jordan Lake. Instead we are working on a join land use plan with Chatham County.
Tuesday I traveled to Washington along with the town manager and our federal staff liaison to present the town’s legislative agenda to our congressional representatives and to the decision making agencies.
Tuesday morning I left for work around 7:15. I arrived at work around 7:30 when my wife called and said that someone had tried to break into our house. I headed back home and when I arrived at the adjoining neighborhood it there was already a police car stationed at the entrance.
I believe this is the year for the town to catch up with the rest of the world in technology. And updating our web site would be a great start.
