Cary, NC – After a bad loss to the Columbus Blue Jackets at the start of the weekend, the Carolina Hurricanes regrouped and played a tremendous game against the New Jersey Devils, all ahead of their big game against the Toronto Maple Leafs the day before Thanksgiving.
Cary, NC – It was an emotional night for many of the current Canes and all of the Caniacs as Cam Ward made his first trip into the PNC Arena as a member of a visiting team. During the first TV timeout, there was a classy video on the Jumbotron about Ward’s 13-year career with the Hurricanes that had a great response by all in attendance including both teams, the refs and even folks on press row. Cary, NC – Ouch! This one hurt. Hurt real bad. After what seemed like a solid two-goal lead going into the third, the Canes allowed two goals, both by Anthony Mantha, to send the game into overtime and then the shootout. The Detroit Red Wings came out on top by a 4-3 score silencing the Caniacs that were anxiously awaiting the newest celebration.
Cary, NC – The top line in the NHL did what they do best and tallied for all three Bruins’ goals while the Canes were only able to muster two at the PNC Arena the night before Halloween. Read more
Cary, NC – It was an up-and-down weekend for the Carolina Hurricanes, winning one game against the Sharks narrowly in a shoot-out and losing the next game against the Islanders just as narrowly. Worse still, the Hurricanes lost to the Islanders with the exact same score they had when they lost to the team earlier this season. Read more
Cary, NC – The Carolina Hurricanes suffered their first loss at the PNC Arena in regulation to ht Colorado Avalanche 3-1 on Saturday, October 20, 2018. Special teams were a main factor in the outcome with the power play going 0-for-5 and the penalty kill going 3-for-4.
Cary, NC – The Carolina Hurricanes won their first home game of the season in a wild, and very entertaining game, 8-5, on Sunday, October 7, 2018 at the PNC Arena against the NY Rangers. The blue shirts always have a bunch of their own fans at these games which made the atmosphere in the stands that much more interesting. Read more
Cary, NC – The Carolina Hurricanes dominated the first game of the season against the NY Islanders but lost the game in overtime 2-1 in front of a sellout crowd Thursday, October 4, 2018 at the PNC Arena. Rod Brind’Amour missed the opportunity to start his coaching career with a win but had to be pleased with the effort the team put on the ice. Owner Tom Dundon promised changes and with 11 of the 20 players on the bench opening night new to the team and the man backs his word.
Cary, NC – The Carolina Hurricanes almost pulled off a perfect record in the preseason, by losing in overtime to a strong Nashville Predator team 5-4 in overtime in front of a great crowd at the PNC Arena on Sunday, September 30, 2018. The Caniac Carnival took place before the game that appeared to have a record crowd. Earlier in the day the coaching staff made the final cuts sending eight players down to Charlotte while keeping four rookies on the team.
