The Cary Scavenger Hunt took place this past Saturday, September 16, 2017, beginning and ending at the Page-Walker Arts & History Center. Sixty-seven teams registered to take part in this year’s fun.
CaryCitizen had our highest turn-out ever for our sixth annual Cary Scavenger Hunt – 63 teams registered to play and discover clues placed all over Cary.
One email that I am not allowed to discuss is about a big announcement. However, I am allowed to say that Cary will get a high profile recognition and accolade on Monday.
For nine years now, the Rock Your World benefit concert has raised money for causes both local and international. The event has grown each year and this year it will be in Downtown Cary at the Mayton Inn.
Issues on the agenda included questions about the loan for the Mayton Inn, a question about the bicycle and pedestrian funding allocation, questions about the Cornerstone rezoning, and a concern about two of the Land Development Ordinance amendments.
The talk about a luxury hotel in Downtown Cary took on a more definitive tone with the announcement last week hearlding The Mayton Inn, a planned 45 room property on one acre of land at the corner of Academy and Park.
Cary, NC — This week was one of the lightest weeks since I have been mayor mainly because everyone is preparing for the council-staff working retreat next week.

Tuesday I met with two representatives from the Taylor Family YMCA. The YMCA is working on their Long-Range Plan for the next 10 years. As they prepare for that Long-Range Plan the Corporate Development Office is interviewing local officials and leaders to help them shape their vision. I answered dozens of questions and told multiple stories in addition to providing information about how I thought Cary will grow in the future. We talked for about an hour.
