One Cary church has led the way in doing good works by combining the elbow grease and love of lobsters. But a group of Cary residents has been working to improve conditions for one community in Uganda and are raising money to work on both the church work there and their own church community back home. Cary, NC – For more than 10 years, Cary’s only Islamic center has operated out of a rental space along Chatham Street. Now, after several years of construction, the permanent mosque is expected to open at 1155 W Chatham St. in 2017, across the street from the current center. Read more
Cary, NC – This Saturday, October 15, 2016 was Cary’s 16th Diwali celebration, held at Koka Booth Amphitheater. Diwali is one of the biggest festivals for Hindus and the event saw people from all around the community come out to enjoy food, music, dancing, art and more. Cary, NC – Some 16 years ago, just a few years after the new St. Michael Roman Catholic Church on High House Road was built in Cary, Monsignor John Wall (the pastor at the time) and the Catholic Diocese of Raleigh realized that the population of Western Cary was growing so rapidly that an additional site would be needed in order to accommodate the expanding number of parishioners.
