Cary, NC – Tis the season to be busy if you are a mayor. There were lots of events this week and a quasi-judicial council meeting.
Monday I met with the town manager and the assistant town manager. Most of our meeting was about affordable housing. In our discussion we noted that there are a lot of questions about affordable housing that need to be answered. Read more
Cary, NC – A strange form of vandalism resulted more than a thousand gallons of wastewater pouring into a Cary creek this week as dozens of large stones were dropped into a manhole, blocking the pipe. Read more

My typical weekly one-on-one meeting with the town manager was cancelled on Monday so my only duty was to sign papers.
Tuesday I joined the entire council and about 200 residents for a public meeting regarding phase II of the downtown park. The consultant’s presentation lasted about 30 to 45 minutes and included information captured from a public workshop held earlier in the year. Read more

Morrisville, NC – Our local area has national attention after U.S. Immigrations and Customs Enforcement (ICE) arrested a man ordered to leave the country, with Morrisville police arresting 27 people who tried to prevent ICE from taking the man into custody. Read more
Cary, NC – This week was a holiday week so there weren’t a lot of activities.
Monday I met with the town manager for our weekly one-on-one meeting. We talked about the staff response to the Mosque fire and a few other things. Our meeting lasted about twenty minutes. Read more
Cary, NC – Despite being a holiday week it was still a busy with a lot of long nights.
Monday was the observed holiday for Veterans Day so I had no duties or activities.
Tuesday I contacted council members to hear of questions or concerns they may have had about Thursday’s upcoming regularly scheduled council meeting. The main topic of my individual discussions was the proposed hotels on North Harrison. It was my belief after these discussions that the proposal would pass by at least a 4 to 3 vote.
Cary, NC – The latest Cary Town Council meeting finally saw a vote on the long-tabled North Harrison Avenue hotel project, as well as several other Public Hearings, a pinning ceremony for Cary’s newest fire chief and the announcement of the 2018 Hometown Spirit Award winner. Read more

Tuesday I joined Council member Frantz in a taping of Cary Matters. This episode will be about the Page-Walker Arts and History Center and its 150th anniversary. The Page-Walker was initially built by Cary’s founder, Allison Francis ‘Frank’ Page, in popular French Second Empire architectural style. Read more
