After too many years of missing the playoffs, GM Ron Francis believes the young, make that very young and very fast corps of players he has assembled will break the trend and be in the playoffs this coming season.

Wow! That had to be what the thrones of Caniacs were saying after the Canes beat the Ottawa Senators 4-3 in a game that started out like a lamb for the Canes but roared like a lion at the end. Jeff Skinner led the way with two goals, and Jaccob Slavin, one of the many rookie defensemen, scored the game-winning shootout goal.
The Canes defeated the Philadelphia Flyers 3-2 on Tuesday, February 23, 2016 at the PNC Arena.
The Carolina Hurricanes defeated the San Jose Sharks 5-2 on Friday, February 19, 2016 at the PNC Arena but lost to the Tampa Bay Lightening two days later on Sunday evening.
