Cary, NC – I love football. But I hate driving to football games. That’s why I decided to take the train from Cary to see the Panthers play the New York Giants last week in Charlotte. Read more

Cary-lina, NC – Saturday, I hope you weren’t rooting for any college teams that I was. They ALL lost. Sunday was better. Read more

Cary-lina, NC – My son-in-law is a long-suffering Clemson fan (what fan isn’t “long-suffering”?). It’s birthday time for him and the Tigers were playing the Wolfpack. So we packed up a van with a grill, various pork products, salty snacks, cold beverages from Milwaukee and a handful of grown boys. We headed to the outskirts of Cary (is that really Raleigh?) at a ridiculously early hour for a game starting at 3:30 pm to “tailgate”. Read more

Cary-lina, NC – The bye last week gave Panthers fans time to build up their hopes only to be disappointed as the Tennessee Titans crushed them 30-3. Indeed this was an opportunity for the Panthers, since the Titans had been struggling of late. Even Vegas had the Panthers as favorites in this game. Read more
Cary-lina, NC – As you know, the Panthers had a bye this weekend. I still need to watch football on Sundays though. I am writing this from a hotel room in the wee hours of the morning while watching football on my laptop from Bangalore. Bangalore. In India. Read more

Cary-lina, NC – The Panthers let this one slip away from them.
Sunday’s contest was taken down to the final seconds only to have Olindo Mare miss a “sure thing” 31 yard field goal that would have sent the game into overtime with 29 ticks left.
The Panthers came up just short (again!) 24-21 to the Vikes. Read more
Cary, NC – Photographer Tom Mousseau was on the sidelines for CaryCitizen at Sunday’s NFL contest between the Carolina Panthers and the Washington Redskins. As reported Sunday night in Matt Young’s column, the Panthers rolled over the ‘Skins 33-20 at home. Tom filed these pictures from the game. Read more

Cary-lina, NC – The 1-3 Panthers played well this week but came up short 29 – 34 to the Chicago Bears, who are not exactly the Monsters of the Midway anymore. But let’s not forget that the Bears were in the NFC Championship just a little over 9 months ago. And one of the other two losses Carolina has been handed was to last year’s Super Bowl winners.
No, the schedule gods have not been fair to the Panthers. Before the bye, they still will have to play the Saints, the Falcons, the Redskins and the Vikings. A brutal schedule. Yet they’ve been “in” every game right to the end. Read more
