Cary, NC — This was a busy week with a lot of long nights. That makes for a tough week when working full time.
The mayors unanimously approved a resolution calling for the Wake County Commissioners to add a referendum on the fall ballot that would put a ¼ cent sales tax for teacher salary increases.
Cary, NC — This week was my first week back after a two week vacation.
Thursday was a regularly scheduled council meeting. The agenda included 14 consent items, 5 public hearings, 6 discussion items, and a closed session on 3 issues.
In his remarks to us Mayor Dean said that his top three priorities are Education, Public Safety, and Economic Development. He also talked about mass transit, quality of life, the environment, bike/pedestrian programs, and health.
We all agreed that information predicted these students for some time but the schools are just not being funded by the county commissioners.
As of April 1, 2014, the Town of Cary’s population is estimated at 148,855, an increase of 4,539 people (+3.05%) since the April 1, 2013 estimate.
The mayors all agreed this (House Bill 150) was bad legislation and will harm home values. The benefactors of this legislation appear to be developers. We also agreed to ask our municipalities to oppose this bill.

As usual, it was another great Masters. From a work standpoint my days were long starting early in the morning and finishing after 8 pm.
