One email that I am not allowed to discuss is about a big announcement. However, I am allowed to say that Cary will get a high profile recognition and accolade on Monday.
Three speakers at the Public Speaks Out portion of the meeting, who have consistently criticized most of the downtown efforts, complained about money being spent in downtown.
Saturday I attended the Eagle Scout ceremony for Ryan Chapman and Yacob Malik. These were the 91st and 93rd Eagle Scouts from Troop 216 at St. Michaels.
A new branding campaign called Cary On was introduced by council member Robinson at the Chamber Planning conference. It’s a Chamber initiative created to give Cary residents an opportunity to express their connection to Cary.

This week was a holiday week as our nation celebrated its independence. In addition to the Independence celebration at Booth amphitheater, the week consisted of several meetings.
For example the Mayor of Cary has an annual salary of $12,995, Apex $9,861, Holly Springs $15,067, Raleigh $16,000, Charlotte $22,660. The chairman of the Wake County commissioners makes $23,300.
This week was a busy week full of events including the opening of a new fire station.
In other emails I received a complaint about Railhawks parking, a complaint about a water leak, a complaint about not having open data expenditures in our budget, a concern about water safety, a complaint that a ladies husband was volunteering too much, and a concern about the poor state of the Cary Town Center mall.
