This week was marked by a new council member and a national recognition for the town.
Emails from citizens this week included several for and against backyard chickens, a complaint about the wording for our Hometown Spirit Award, a request for memorial event for veterans, a concern about traffic around schools, and a concern about traffic at the new I540 and US64.
This week was not a typical council week. Other than the council meeting and a leadership dinner there wasn’t much going on.
Cary, NC – This week was a big week as we appointed a new council member and I met the first lady of the United States.
Emails this week covered a lot of topics. It might be of interest to know that council members get nasty-grams on occasion. And part of being on council means you have to accept that and deal with it. I thought I would include two of this week’s nasty-grams as an example.
Powell Bill are funds distributed to cities and towns to assist them in maintaining, constructing, reconstructing, repairing and improving public thoroughfares, certain bikeways and sidewalks within their corporate limits.
Cary Town Council will consider a recommendation to enter into an option with the Raleigh-based coffee roaster Larry’s Beans to lease the historic Jones-Foy House at 324 S. Academy Street across from the Cary Arts Center.
This week was comprised of July 4th celebrations and various meetings.
This week was marked by the last council meeting with long time council member Julie Robison.
The highlights for this week included the hosting Wake County mayors at the Booth Amphitheater and a free health fair.
